My Darling Love,
You’ve stood by my side when I’ve turned my snobbish nose at you for being a drugstore brand. Your packaging is amongst the commoners, but your presence was a giant. Now, I trust you so much that, as I scrape off the bottom of your last bits, I have no anxieties, nor fears, as two of your other backups are safely tucked in my beauty closet.
And it’s true that I have strayed from you in the past. The expensive, shiny, packaged creams and potions seduced me, and then I came running back to you with my irritated, dry, red, bumpy skin. You never questioned me and always took me back—unconditionally.
I’m not sure how to eloquently to put this, but having incurable eczema simply sucks. There are some other tragic diseases that I don’t suffer from, and I should be thankful, that much I know. But, when angry clusters of blistery, dry, itchy patches appear all over my body—it can be gruesomely agitating. Scratching my behind in public is frowned upon in any situation. As you well know, the doctors will prescribe me creams laced with steroids, and recently, the costly non-steroids medication worked in analog speed. I know, you were there from afar.
Over the years, I have learned that stress, too many hot showers, and dryness triggers my eczema inflammations. As I gracefully embrace my older, less stressed self, the breakouts are getting less frequent, but I also have to give credit where the spotlight is due. You, it’s all you—Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream, I love you so.
You’re the tub of thick, fragrance-free cream that works wonders for any dry skin, and especially for my eczema. I have been using you with Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Body Wash for years with stellar results. A marriage made in heaven.
It’s that time of year again, when the seasonal changes wreak havoc on my skin. You’re the tub of joy that will cure anyone’s dry skin issues and needs. It’s not just dry patches on various parts of my body; you have healed my hands, feet, cuticles and even the unmentionable parts of me. I simply want to say— I Love you and thank you for being a part of my life.
